Choose the Challenge you actually want to play

Challenge Mode has a standard run, 12 permanent rule sets, a rotating type-based Daily Challenge and a Weekly Challenge. These are battle runs. The six-Pokémon DailyPokésort puzzle is a separate activity and does not clear a Challenge for you.

  1. Open Pokelike and choose Take Challenge.
  2. For a standard run, open Challenge Mode. If its permanent choices are still locked, clear the introductory run first. Existing accounts with the qualifying older Challenge/Kalos Tower record may already have this unlocked.
  3. Pick a starter from the choices your save has unlocked, then choose the starting passive offered by the game. Check its rule before committing: a Nuzlocke or no-evolution run changes what makes a useful starter.
  4. Use catch nodes to fill the party, order the actual team before the next boss, and choose a passive after a boss when offered. Finish the final gauntlet to record a clear.
  5. On the result screen, check the clear, reward and MVP. A standard Challenge clear pays 1,000 ₽. A loss uses 100 ₽ per completed map; Daily/Weekly loss rewards instead use a 50 ₽-per-map base, with special modes able to override it.

The three initially available starting choices are Power Bracer (+20% damage),Power Lens (stat boosts 30% more effective), andIron Thorns (enemies take 20% attack recoil). Star Piece, Hazard Lens and Shiny Hunter are achievement-locked choices; inspect the lock in your save before planning around them.Compare their effects in Items.

All 12 permanent Challenges

Choose the named rule in Challenge Mode. Monotype opens a second choice of 18 types; each type has its own clear.

ChallengeWhat changesPrepare before starting
MonotypeChoose one of 18 types. Catch choices must have that type; clear each type separately.Keep two useful attack types; a shared type does not remove every weakness.
Wish Upon a StarStar Piece starts active. Every boss replaces the team with random Pokémon.Save healing and plan replacements before each boss changes the roster.
Trick RoomThe slower Pokémon attacks first.Choose slow, durable attackers; extra Speed can work against this rule.
NuzlockeA Pokémon that faints is lost for the rest of this run.Keep an answer in reserve; a fainted carry cannot return in this run.
Inverse WorldWeakness and resistance matchups are inverted.Recheck matchups under the inverted chart before ordering your team.
Legendary OppositionEvery opposing trainer has legendaries of the map’s type.Prepare for the map type and a full opposing legendary roster.
Arena FloorsCatch and Shiny nodes offer the current boss map’s type.Plan a replacement before entering a new boss-type map.
Ride or DieFill at most six slots; releasing and replacing are disabled.Keep early slots flexible: a temporary catch can become permanent.
Little LeaguePokémon cannot evolve.Choose useful unevolved stats; do not budget around a later evolution.
Walk It OffNo Pokémon Centers or free healing between fights.Preserve HP with recovery effects; do not plan around a Center reset.
WantedAfter the first layer, non-boss nodes are trainer battles; enemies have +50% level.Budget HP for consecutive fights against enemies at 1.5× level.
Ultimate ChallengePermadeath, no healing and no evolution apply together.Combine the Nuzlocke, no-heal and no-evolution plans; none is optional.

Monotype preparation: one type, several jobs

Choose the type, then keep secondary types and actual attacks in view. For example, Water/Ground can cover an Electric weakness but introduces a 4× Grass exposure; a second Water member that handles Grass is a different job from simply adding another Water point. Check those costs in the Team Analyzer, then enter the attacks you really obtained. The ordinary type checker does not apply Inverse World or simulate the Challenge's battles.

Daily Challenge: type, reward and reset

The Daily card starts a Monotype run for that day's type. The first clear of the game day pays 2,000 ₽; another clear of the same daily pays 500 ₽. This is a battle-run reward, not the Pokésort reward.

The shared reset is midnight Europe/Berlin, including daylight-saving changes. At the October 19, 2026 review the scheduled type is Flying. This is a dated snapshot: use the type and countdown on the official Daily card when you start a later run. A local midnight or another country's date may differ.

  1. Open Take Challenge → the Daily Challenge card and read its displayed type.
  2. Choose an available starter of that type; protect its worst matchup with secondary types and held items as the roster grows.
  3. Clear the run and check the Daily card's completed mark before replaying for the smaller reward.

The official cycle is Normal → Fire → Water → Electric → Grass → Ice → Fighting → Poison → Ground → Flying → Psychic → Bug → Rock → Ghost → Dragon → Dark → Steel → Fairy → Normal. The type is selected by the Berlin calendar-day number modulo 18, rather than your last run's result.

Weekly snapshot: Mega Hoenn

Observed October 19, 2026: the official v3.5 client selects Mega Hoenn, available from October 16, 2026. It is a Gen 3 Story Nuzlocke: one catch per map, and a fainted Pokémon is lost for the run. Your starter is one of three random Hoenn Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, carrying its Mega Stone from the start. The stone only works after it reaches the required form, and this Challenge's Mega has no signature Mega ability.

Choose Solo, play with Wally as the battle partner, or link a friend for Soul Link. A Soul Link pair is lost on both saves when either member faints. Enemies are two levels below the usual Hoenn curve, four below after the fifth gym. These variants disable achievement credit; they are not a shortcut to an ordinary Mega MVP unlock.

VariantFirst clearReplayHow to prepare
Solo2,000 ₽2,000 ₽Protect the starter until its evolution makes the Mega Stone usable.
Partner5,000 ₽5,000 ₽Account for Wally’s partner team before choosing your own coverage.
Co-op5,000 ₽5,000 ₽Coordinate the same-map catch and avoid risking either linked partner.
  1. Open the official Weekly card and confirm its name. A later update can replace this dated snapshot.
  2. Select the variant, inspect all three starter choices and the offered stone, and plan the route around that actual starter.
  3. Keep a usable backup before a gym. Nuzlocke losses cannot be repaired with a later heal or revive.
  4. Finish the run, then verify that variant's clear mark and reward. Weekly completion uses the required variants; optional variants do not block it.

See the Hoenn Story boss and route guide for the regional fights, while retaining this Weekly run's different catch, Mega and achievement rules.
