How to Complete Your Pokédex in Pokelike

Direct answer

Start with the caught entries missing from your in-game Pokédex, then search each name or National Dex number in the Wiki’s Pokémon directory. Turn on recorded Story routes to find the dated capture windows and evolution answers already available. For example, Kanto offers a Gastly route through Haunter at level 25 and Gengar at level 38, or a direct Gengar opportunity on Map 9. Return to the game’s caught checklist after acquiring it. Kanto’s #1–151 completion is the checked Shiny Charm condition; the Wiki’s full 1,025-species base reference is not a list you must catch in Pokelike.

Find the exact missing caught entry first

  • Open the Pokédex in the game and use its caught status to make your missing list. Record the name or National Dex number, region and save you are checking.
  • For the Shiny Charm task, work through National Dex #1–151. The pinned v3.1 client checks this Kanto caught range automatically; winning the League with a species is a different record.
  • Open the Wiki’s Generation 1 reference and search one missing name or number. It does not read your save. Confirm the selected species instead of treating an alternate Form or a Pokésort appearance as the missing catch.

Choose a recorded route without hiding the full reference

The directory’s recorded Story routes filter shows species for which this Wiki already has a dated encounter window or starter/evolution route. Each matching card names the region and map or evolution route; open it for the conditions and source date. You can combine the filter with name, type or generation, and Clear returns to the full reference.

A species absent from this filter is not proven unavailable. The full directory stays accessible, including every existing type profile, Form selector and Analyzer action. The current reviewed records cover selected routes rather than every catch in every mode. If your target lacks a route card, inspect the regional Story guide’s capture windows and the current in-game Pokédex instead of concluding that the target does not exist.

Worked missing entry: Gengar

Pick the route that matches your current run instead of waiting for a late Gengar if you already have Gastly or Haunter. After the game records the acquisition, reopen the same save’s caught checklist to verify that the intended entry is resolved. Repeat with the next missing entry.

What you already haveNext usable routeCondition to recheck
GastlyTrain to Haunter at level 25, then Gengar at level 38.Ordinary evolution can be blocked by Eviolite, no-evolution challenges or a run-specific cap.
HaunterReach level 38 for the ordinary Gengar evolution. This is Pokelike’s level route; do not assume another Pokémon game’s trading requirement.
Neither earlier stageKanto Maps 3–4 list Gastly, Maps 5–6 list Haunter, and Map 9 lists Gengar.A pool entry permits an offered encounter; it does not guarantee that your next node contains that species.

Worked starter entry: Charizard

For a Kanto Charmander start, the reviewed route is Charmander → Charmeleon at 16 → Charizard at 36. Use the ordinary evolution checks, keep a Water or Grass partner for Brock and Misty, and avoid sacrificing the developing Fire role to a poor opening matchup. This is a starter/evolution route, not an unsupported claim that every Charizard Form is a wild capture.

The base evolution reference below an entity and the Pokésort stage label answer different questions. Use the explicitly marked Pokelike evolution level for this task; use the puzzle’s recorded stage only for Pokésort clues.

Completion reward and the next target

The pinned v3.1 Shiny Charm check uses the Kanto caught range #1–151, not all 1,025 records in the Wiki. Once the check is satisfied, the ordinary shiny-roll function reads that condition automatically. The Charm guide owns the exact probability conditions and exceptions.

If the goal is a particular Shiny rather than filling a missing ordinary entry, choose the target’s capture window first. A higher eligible shiny-roll chance does not create an encounter that is absent from the selected route. The Shiny hunting guide gives direct Gengar, Tentacool and Natu examples.

Source dates and applicability

This workflow reuses the official v3.1 completion and evolution checks, the Kanto Story inspection of September 17, 2026, and the dated entity records linked from the directory. It does not re-label those older facts as newly verified in the latest client. Pool eligibility and level thresholds answer route-planning questions; neither establishes a guaranteed random offer or the rules of every Challenge.

Source boundary

What the source does not prove

  • The directory does not read or synchronize your save; the in-game caught checklist remains the source for which entries you personally lack.
  • The recorded Story routes are a partial, dated set, not an exhaustive current encounter database. Missing route evidence does not establish unavailability.
  • The Shiny Charm statements refer to the checked v3.1 function; special eggs, rewards and other modes retain their own rules.
