Hoenn Battle Tower: Teams and Preparation

Direct answer

Hoenn is Tower Stage 3 after Johto. Build beyond its Grass opening: Juan needs Grass/Electric coverage, Drake has Dragon T3/Flying T2, and Steven finishes with level-85–90 Pokémon and Steel T3. Prepare Fire or Ground damage, check the actual target, and keep a durable reserve; a clear pays 500₽ and opens Sinnoh.

Start here: Hoenn Tower, not Story

Torchic or an owned Fire attacker can answer Gardenia, but Glacia’s Sealeo is Ice/Water and takes neutral Fire damage overall; retain a second attack role. Before Brawly, find a Flying/Psychic answer that can survive. Keep Grass for Juan’s Whiscash/Swampert and an Ice/Fairy role for Drake instead of investing every resource into Fire.

Clear Johto Tower to unlock this stage. A Story clear with the same region name does not substitute for that Tower stage clear.

All nine fixed opponents: teams, levels and Traits

These are the v3.5 ordinary Tower opponents in map order, including configured Shiny slots. Fixed enemies can keep evolved or special forms below their usual evolution levels. Levels include slot offsets and the trainer bonus; they are opponent reference levels, not required player levels. Special Challenge multipliers are excluded.

Prepare for the final three maps

  • Drake: levels 60–65: Most members are Dragon/Flying and take 4× Ice damage; Kingdra is Water/Dragon and does not share that Ice weakness. Fairy attacks give a second Dragon answer. Flying T2 affects speed, so inspect whether your damage dealer can act instead of assuming super-effective typing alone wins.
  • Anabel: levels 68–73: Four Deoxys forms are followed by Latias and Latios. Dark/Ghost/Bug attacks help, but a slow frail counter can fall before acting. Preserve HP and current move quality for this Psychic sequence rather than buying a new underlevelled type immediately before it.
  • Steven: levels 85–90: His six include three Metagross, Aggron, Claydol and Jirachi. Steel T3 reduces ordinary incoming damage by 45%; Fire or Ground can pressure the Steel/Psychic core. Claydol is Ground/Psychic and needs Water/Grass/Ice/Bug/Ghost/Dark coverage. The last Metagross is shiny; keep the real attack and remaining HP in view.

Choose a starter and spend for the next missing role

Torchic or an owned Fire attacker can answer Gardenia, but Glacia’s Sealeo is Ice/Water and takes neutral Fire damage overall; retain a second attack role. Before Brawly, find a Flying/Psychic answer that can survive. Keep Grass for Juan’s Whiscash/Swampert and an Ice/Fairy role for Drake instead of investing every resource into Fire.

Start with the unlocked evolution line you can develop and whose current move handles the opening. Permanent Vitamins cost 200₽ each and normally add 5% to the selected stat per point; Attack and Special Attack are paired in the budget. Compare one available replacement before investing, and keep the outgoing resistance or immunity visible.

Clear reward, next unlock and failure payout

An ordinary Hoenn Tower clear pays 500₽. It opens Sinnoh Tower.

A defeated ordinary Tower run pays round(10% × this stage’s clear reward × maps already completed), once for that loss. For example, five completed maps here pay 250₽. This is not a reward for abandoning a run or a claimed coins-per-minute test.

A recorded non-Challenge Tower clear also raises the Vitamin cap to min(10 × your highest cleared stage, 50). Kalos unlocks the Mega Bracelet; ORAS unlocks the extra ORAS stone set, while each stone still needs its own winning-Challenge MVP count.

Before the next fight: make a concrete check

Sources: Pokelike official v3.5 client — Tower, permanent investment, eggs and Mega unlocks

  • Inspect the next opponent, its actual attack and current weather/ability effects; change the lead and held item for that fight.
  • Keep enough HP and a backup for the last opponent rather than spending every answer on the previous trainer.
  • Enter the moves you actually use in the Analyzer. It does not simulate these boss rosters, levels, weather, Mega abilities or battle outcomes.
  • A caught Pokémon is not automatically a permanent Starter. Complete a run with a non-legendary evolution line; legendary egg/event unlocks follow their separate rules.

What the source does not prove

  • Facts were read from the official v3.5 client on October 19, 2026. Counter plans are recommendations from its actual rosters and mechanics, not a recorded clear or a win-rate guarantee.
  • Ordinary Tower data is shown; special Challenge rules can change rosters, levels, Traits, Items and eligibility.
