Pokelike Legendary Starters — Eggs, Shards and Event Unlocks

Direct answer

Catching a legendary during an ordinary run does not by itself unlock a permanent Tower starter. Eligible legendary eggs record a permanent PC unlock: buy a 10,000₽ egg or spend 2 Legendary Shards, or use 10 Shards to select an unowned eligible non-Shiny legendary. Current event exceptions include Mew from map 25 in the normal or Hardcore Endless paths and Celebi from SpireMon Challenge. Do not apply the egg-only rule to those named rewards.

Unlock an egg-pool legendary step by step

Sources: Pokelike official v3.5 client — Tower, permanent investment, eggs and Mega unlocks

  • Open the Poké Mart and check the Legendary Egg and Legendary Shard options.
  • For a random eligible legendary, spend 10,000₽ or 2 Shards. The hatch records normal legendary ownership, and a Shiny hatch separately records Shiny ownership.
  • For a specific unowned eligible species, save 10 Shards and use the selection/voucher list. Already-owned species are disabled; this selection grants a non-Shiny result.
  • Return to Battle Tower → an unlocked stage → Hall of Fame PC. Clear restrictive generation/type/Shiny/Missing/Mega filters and select the unlocked legendary. A special Challenge can still restrict eligibility.

Why my run-caught legendary is not selectable

A normal completed-run harvest excludes a legendary unless its entry came from the egg path. Its caught Pokédex entry, membership in a winning team, and normal permanent PC ownership are different records. You can keep a useful run-caught legendary for that run without treating it as a permanent starter unlock.

Shiny legendary access is separate: owning a normal egg legendary and catching a Shiny version inside a run does not automatically establish the egg-Shiny record. The PC’s Shiny missing hint specifically names a Shiny egg hatch.

Species / groupWhat the checked client supportsNext action
MewExcluded from the Legendary Egg pool; map 25 in normal/Hardcore Endless invokes its permanent PC unlock.Choose the relevant Endless mode, reach 25 completed maps, then check the Hall of Fame PC. Creative/other variants should be checked against their own rules.
CelebiSpireMon is a permanent mode. Its Challenge submode lists Celebi as the permanent species unlock.Complete SpireMon Intro, then clear SpireMon Challenge. The optional Endless submode is not a prerequisite for this Celebi unlock.
Jirachi, Shaymin, Victini, HoopaAlso excluded from this snapshot’s random egg and voucher pool; the PC labels excluded entries event-only. The inspected ordinary egg path does not establish a permanent recipe for them.Use the game’s current named event/reward menu for an explicit species unlock. Do not spend more random Legendary Eggs expecting one of these excluded species; retain any useful in-run catch.

Duplicate returns and Shiny pity are separate

A duplicate normal legendary returns 1 Shard; a duplicate Shiny legendary returns 20. These replace the older 5,000₽ duplicate claim for the current hatch path. A random Legendary Egg’s Shiny chance starts at 1% plus 0.3 percentage points for every non-Shiny legendary hatch since the last Shiny; a Shiny resets that pity counter.

Legendary Eggs use a separate probability rule from ordinary encounters. Do not multiply the egg chance by the ordinary 1/2/4% encounter table or promise a fixed number of eggs.

What the source does not prove

  • Facts refer to the official v3.5 egg, PC and named unlock functions inspected October 19, 2026, plus the current SpireMon definition. This was not a live hatch, a map-25 playthrough, or a recorded Celebi acquisition.
  • The four other excluded event species are preserved as explicit egg exclusions; no unsupported recipe or current availability is invented.
